Dr Maha Aljefri
BDS, MFDS RCS (Edin), PgCert (Dent Ed), MOrth RCS (Eng)
Dr Maha Aljefri completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at the University of Bristol, and gained her Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MFDS RCS Ed). She then worked in various settings including NHS hospitals in oral and maxillofacial surgery, managing head and neck trauma and caring for surgical inpatients, as well as working in private practice.
Maha then pursued a career in Orthodontics attending a three-year postgraduate masters programme (MSc) at Kings College London. During this time she treated complex cases and carried out a research project on interproximal reduction in Orthodontics, an alternative method to dental extractions for space creation. Maha then gained her bi-collegiate specialist membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons in England (MOrth RCS Eng). Maha is also an educator, having completed a postgraduate certificate in dental education (PgCert Dent Ed) to support her passion for teaching and training within the field of dentistry.
Maha is married and enjoys traveling and horse riding during her leisure time. Having grown up in the Middle East, she takes pride in her contributions to advancing opportunities for women in sports throughout the region.
